Energy Saving Insulation Energy Efficient Insulation Insulation Air Quality Insulation Healthy Living Insulation Enivironmental Benefits

Foam insulation is the most cost-effective insulation for both residential and commercial use. After a higher initial cost than builder-grade alternatives such as fiberglass, foam insulation's superior energy efficiency pays for itself in 3-5 years or immediately when paid for as part of your mortgage.

Foam insulation is typically 30%-50% more efficient than traditional fiberglass insulation found in homes today. That's good news as your energy bills, the most significant cost of operating your home, will decrease immediately.

Foam insulated homes are quite comfortable as they are air-sealed, which prevents drafts in winter and humidity in summer. Foam also makes for an effective sound barrier from outside noise when used in exterior walls and noise between rooms when used in interior walls.

We recommend only foam insulation, the healthiest insulation available on the market today to prevent damaging moisture, allergens, and other pollutants from entering the home. We also refuse to sell fiberglass, not only due to its extreme inefficiency, but because of its known health risks to home occupants.

Foam insulation is good for the environment because it requires less non-renewable energy to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. What's more, our insulation is made with annually renewable sources of energy, including American-grown sugarcane polyols.

Retrofit Injectable Foam

Retrofit Injection Foam

One of the drawbacks to spray foam insulation is that it can't be installed in a cavity that is closed on both sides (i.e. the walls of an existing home). In 2009 Energsmart added Retrofit Injectable Foam to our product line. Like spray foam, Retrofit has a proven track record of several decades.

Ignition Barrier Coating

Fire-Lok is an interior ignition barrier coating for spray polyurethane foam insulation. Depending on your particular application, an ignition barrier may be required by Building Code. This barrier is typically not needed if the area insulated is covered with drywall, but one of our representatives can tell you for sure.

Cellulose Insulation

Cellulose Insulation

While Energsmart's foam insulation products provide the greatest efficiency in the industry, we also offer a mid-grade product called cellulose. While not as efficient as foam, the product is more efficient and much more healthy than fiberglass. Cellulose is made up almost entirely of recycled newspapers, making it the "greenest" insulation product available. The product can be blown into attics or side walls.
